Part two of the Atonal Atmospheric Mix series. I just finished a dubstep mix for J'aime Le Dubstep; while at the same time putting together a much more hype dubstep/electro mix called "Peep Show". During the madness of thick bass, I was inspired by a friend of mine who said that she really enjoyed the Atonal Atmospheric Mix I put out last year. So in a matter of days I collected new material from the Books, Godspeed You Black Emperor, the XX, Beck, Boards of Canada, and others to put together another Atonal Atmospheric Mix. This one delves deeper into the Atonal Atmospheric concept. Bringing you songs with long erie soundscapes and tracks with gentle smokey vocals like the XX and Beck. This mix is completely non-dance floor music. This music is for rainy, snowy, cold days at home when you just want to get lost in sound.

Friday evening at Shambhala saw the opening of the Village. Glitchy and Scratchy of the IGU kicked off the opening of the stage with a insane performance of Dubstep and Glitch Hop. The dance floor was packed and the crowd was ready to throw down. One of the tracks dropped early in the set was myles AWAY's remix of "The Wretched" by Nine Inch Nails.

But this time I wanted to make an original production, not based off another song. BUT! The title is based off another song. The title is an homage to Marilyn Manson's "Get Your Gunn" (spelled with two "N's" because it was actually about a man, not a gun). This track is aggressive and sexy, so put it on the speakers or slide on some headphones and enjoy!

Those who were lucky enough to party there will be sad to see it go. It was a special moment in time that will be hard to repeat. ***The final BENZOUSE party was shut down by the cops so I did not get to play this track. I was about hour or so into my set when they showed up. So, May 15th, 2009 @ the Dollhouse will be its new live premiere. Be there! Its going to be sick!

Alright, so as the setlist shows its not all "Bassline". But, who cares. Its pounding beats starting at 129 beats per minute and ending at 129 beats per minute. My sets are always tempo changers; I usually like to evolve the set from one genre to the next. Most start at breaks and end with Dubstep. But this is my first set that starts at a BPM and stays there the whole time (I'm always into trying new things). The only track to break up the straight pounding kick beat is Chase and Status': Running. This song fools you by starting as a super-cheesy electro song, but before you know it, it drops into a heavy dubstep beat. Slow dubstep, but dubstep never-the-less (and even slower because it's dropped to 129bpm). Enjoy!
